River Johnson, Senior Staff Writer
In his sophomore year, River Johnson joined the Advanced Journalism Class as Radio Editor. After enjoying his previous year in Journalism, he wanted to take the class a second time. That’s when Mrs. Connelly suggested applying to be an editor for the 2020-2021 school year. After a year of writing stories, conducting interviews, and recording podcasts, alongside anchoring here and there, he agreed that it would be great to try something new!
Outside of school, River loves to spend time with his family. The pandemic has been hard on him because of the restrictions preventing him from seeing his extended family. In his free time, River plays guitar and drums, and also writes and records his own music. He has written his own album and hopes to release it soon, and will never give up guitar. Lily, River’s dog, is his favorite pet, especially over his evil mastermind cat, Poppy. But in all seriousness, watch out for the cat. River hopes that shelter in place ends soon, so he can go out with his friends again and go back to school when it’s safe, and his goal is to make a living doing what he loves in the future.
