With this being her first year as a part of AVJournalism, Katie Barhite (‘27) hopes to write news stories for Amador’s newspaper, The Amadon. Katie has always had a passion for all things writing as a child, whether that be reading books of all genres or making her patient parents listen to the stories she wrote over and over again. Outside of class, you can find Katie on the softball field. She has enjoyed playing this sport since she was young and is on the Amador Dons softball team. Katie was lucky enough to participate in the varsity softball NCS and State Championship win just last year. 

Aside from school and sports, Katie enjoys going to Santa Cruz. She has been visiting this beach with her family every summer since she can remember. Although she hasn’t mastered it yet, Katie hopes to one day be able to surf. In the rest of her free time, Katie enjoys listening to music, hanging out with friends, mindlessly scrolling through Tik Tok, and trying to catch up on sleep.
