Walking into her sophomore year at Amador Valley, Karissa Yeung (’24) is excited to join the journalism team. Over the summer, she had the opportunity to learn the basics of how to write articles with the Harvard Crimson. With the knowledge she gained, she hopes to write many fascinating stories for the paper.
In her free time, Karissa enjoys swimming and bothering her dog, Buster. She also likes to crochet, but often finds herself tangled up in the yarn. During COVID-19, she started playing tennis. The athlete would consider herself a pretty solid tennis player (especially because she is not that tall), however definitely not as good as Naomi Osaka or Serena Williams. Although Karissa is shy, she goes out of her comfort zone and always makes an effort to get to know new people.
