Elissa Jimerson, Amadon Editor
Sophomore Elissa Jimerson is an Editor with Amador Valley Journalism (“AVJ”). Before joining the AVJ editorial staff, she took several classes aligned with her love of graphic design and STEAM (i.e., Digital Arts, Arduino & Interactive Art, Procreate, Web Design, and HTML). Elissa also participated in Amador’s Girls Who Code program every year since 6th grade, as well as the American Association of University Women’s Expanding Your Horizons STEM Program for Girls. She looks forward to meeting new people, making new friends and learning more about graphic design and journalism during her time with AVJ.
Elissa balances her academic pursuits with her love of athletics. She is a member of the Amador Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team and the Tenacity 2027 Girls National Lacrosse Team. Elissa hopes to play NCAA Division 1 lacrosse in college after she graduates high school. While she previously enjoyed soccer and swimming, she is now looking forward to developing her skills at golf.
Prior to attending Amador, Elissa was homeschooled from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Outside of school, Elissa enjoys playing with her pet guinea pig, reading, drawing, painting and traveling the United States while playing competitive lacrosse.
