The Tennessee Titans have recently announced that 20 of the team members, 10 players and 10 staff members, have tested positive for coronavirus. This is now seen as the first coronavirus outbreak for the NFL league.

“All decisions will be made with health and safety as our primary consideration,” said by the NFL’s communication office and the NFL Players Association.

NFL teams have been conducting each game with a range of restrictions. Strict COVID-19 protocols are enforced, and if any are broken, disciplinary action will be taken from the league. Due to the positive coronavirus tests, the Titans are now lacking some key players within their lineups.

“Obviously we’re going to be missing some guys, but that’s just the situation we’re in. We didn’t choose this, but we’re living in the middle of a pandemic and this came up. We’re going to be down some guys, but it also raises a big opportunity for some guys that have been with us,” said Ryan Tannehill, a Titans quarterback

This outbreak has caused the league to further postpone the Titans scheduled game against the Steelers until Oct. 25. However, practice resumed and there were no positive tests reported by Sunday, so the Titans played the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday.

If coronavirus safety rules are followed, including wearing masks and restricting stadium attendance, it’s most likely that the league will continue to play. Health and safety is the primary consideration throughout the season for the players, staff, and coaches.
