This year’s Mr. Amador has officially begun raising money for the George Marks Children’s House. The opportunity for students to be able to raise money for the charity is a huge opportunity for many.
“It’s a great feeling to know that you’re helping a great cause like the George Marks Children’s House. To know that we’re helping the lives of children around the world that really need the help, it’s a really great feeling,” said Logan Jew-Fortner (‘27).
Commitment to Cause
The commitment for Mr. Amador can be a struggle for those who participate in sports or have a part-time job. Many have to miss practices for rehearsals to make sure that these events can run as smoothly as possible.
“I have a job. I work at the Dairy, and the flexibility is pretty flexible because they try to just do what works best for everyone. But sometimes there’s someone that doesn’t show up to practice or there’s some you lose,” said Wyatt Loos (‘25).
It’s not only the young men who participate in this organization, but also others who help with organizing the Mr. Amador boys. These students are the ones who make sure it all runs smoothly.
“I come up with ideas and help organize fundraisers and just spread awareness. Like, promoting the club and spreading awareness about it,” said Reese Fogarty (‘27).
Mr. Amador makes a big difference in the world, as it donates their money to the George Marks Children’s House. Each year, the chosen students do various performances and events to raise as much money as possible. This year, some of these events include a walkathon, pie-in-the-face, and a giant performance.
“I feel these kids need the help, and we’re trying our hardest to give them the help they need, and the money can hopefully help them. It’s all for a good cause,” said Rayyan Shah (‘26).
