On Jan. 31, DreamWorks Animations released Dog Man, a film based on the beloved children’s graphic novel created by Dav Pilkey. By the opening weekend, the movie garnered $36 Million, reaching #1 in the Box Office. The film stars Peter Hastings as Dog Man, a half-dog half-human, who goes on a thrilling adventure to capture his nemesis, Petey the Cat, played by Pete Davidson. Rated PG with various action-packed storylines, Dog Man is a perfect comedy for all ages.
“I read the books back when I was a kid. So the movie really lived up to my expectations,” said Christianna Yano.
About the Story
Dog Man starts with Greg the Police Dog and his police officer Knight on a wild chase to capture Petey the Cat. After a fatal accident, an emergency surgery saves them but changes one important feature and Dog Man is born. When the infamous Petey the Cat or the evil Flippy the Fish comes back to life to destroy good, Dog Man protects the city with the Chief and Lil’ Petey. Amid evil inventions, buildings coming to life, and high-speed chases, he shows the importance of friendship, trust, and having a positive outlook on life.
“My favorite part of the movie is Lil’ Petey because he’s really cute. I like how he’s the younger and more positive version of the current Petey,” said Joseph Yano.
