2025 promises albums from big names sure to make waves throughout the industry. Great albums like Clairo’s Charm, Billie Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, and Charli xcx’s Brat hit on Spotify. It’ll be tough to beat out the hits that topped charts and dominated radio stations.
Mac Miller’s Balloonerism
Set to be released posthumously, Mac Miller’s album leans experimental and showcases the broad range of his talents. Although officially ‘teased’ in Tyler the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw in November, fans anticipate this album to drop soon. With fourteen new tracks, it’s an in-depth look at a side of his music fans have never encountered before.
“Mac Miller’s a talented artist. I’d recommend Divine Feminine to anyone looking to get into his music,” said Jiya Channon (‘26).
Lana Del Rey’s The Right Person Will Stay
Lana’s cult-like following earned her widespread acclaim for her emotive tracks overlaid with haunting vocals. Her well-received album Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd was nominated for six Grammy awards, and if her newest release sounds like her other albums such as Lust for Life and Ultraviolence, it could cement her status as one of the greats in modern music.
“I liked the type of sound she shifted to in her last album. I think her album will be just as popular as the last one because her style is timeless,” said Saanvi Buricha (‘26).
Playboi Carti’s I Am Music
One of the best-known names in rap, Carti’s freestyled, infectious songs have attracted huge audiences awaiting his next drop. Known for his unpredictable release schedule and constantly evolving artistry, fans are eager to see what direction he’ll take next, whether it’s a more polished project or a more laid-back track.
“I think he’ll try something different than his usual genre…I’d give it a listen when it comes out,” said Joe Choi.
