“Don’t die.” While this statement is much easier said than done, Bryan Johnson made it his life’s goal to follow this motto. The Netflix Documentary Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever, released on Jan. 1, details Johnson’s strict, regimented lifestyle.
About the Story
Bryan Johnson is a 47-year-old man living in Los Angeles, California. His early career as an entrepreneur made him worth hundreds of millions of dollars. However, instead of living a lavish and relaxed life, he opted for something more: he wanted to de-age. This objective drove him to create Project Blueprint in 2021.
Blueprint was what this overwhelming concept was referred to as it gained media attention. With over one million followers on Instagram and YouTube, Johnson intrigued millions of people. This led to a more elaborate look into his world, the Netflix documentary.
Directed by Chris Smith, the documentary gives insight into Johnson’s daily routine which begins at 4:30 a.m. He meditates, does a 90-minute workout, and eats a nutritional breakfast filled with nuts and berries all before seven in the morning. Throughout the day he consumes 2,000 calories and over 100 vitamins and supplements. Later in the documentary, he even gets injections to alter his genes.
Journalists and other scientists questioned the true motive behind his lifelong experiment; speculations started arising as he gained media fame. In his YouTube video descriptions, there are multiple links to the products he uses; through purchases, he receives monetization. Because Johnson is an entrepreneur and businessman, questions remain if this project is genuine or a trick to keep his wealth.
