As the holiday season arrives, downtown Pleasanton restaurants and shops celebrate with festive treats and drinks that perfectly capture the essence of winter. From seasonal pastries to warm beverages, these local businesses embrace the holiday spirit in creative and delicious ways.
Seasonal Flavors at Meadowlark Dairy
Meadowlark Dairy, a long-standing Pleasanton favorite, has rolled out its seasonal offerings, starting with flavors like eggnog and peppermint. “Eggnog has been more popular, but peppermint will last longer since we have more of it,” said manager Jesse Takens.
For customers eagerly awaiting new winter flavors, Meadowlark has exciting plans in the works.
“We’re working on recipes to add more flavors, and soon we’ll be able to expand production. We’re introducing a bigger system to make pints, which will allow us to create more flavors and include unique add-ins,” said Takens.
Festive Treats at Primrose Bakery
Primrose Bakery adds its own creative flair to holiday classics with festive pastries and desserts. Among their seasonal offerings, the peppermint cannoli stands out as a unique and eye-catching treat.
“It’s a really unique take on Christmas desserts. It’s a decision that helps the bakery shine with its baked goods,” said Sarina Liu (‘27).
Primrose continues to deliver high-quality pastries while showcasing festive flavors that bring customers into the holiday spirit. Their creativity ensures that everyone can find something special to enjoy.
Winter Drinks at Inklings Coffee & Tea
The popular coffee shop Inklings Coffee and Tea welcomes the season with a rotating selection of holiday beverages. Items like the gingerbread cold foam chai and eggnog latte have returned to the menu due to their popularity in past years.
“We try to have a good variety of drinks. Some people enjoy spicy flavors, while others prefer chocolate peppermint. It’s about ensuring every customer finds something they’ll love,” said barista Jenna Sussex.
The seasonal menu doesn’t just offer great flavors—it’s also a testament to teamwork.
“All the syrups are house-made, and the recipes are developed by our team. The baristas have a say in deciding what works best and what new ideas to try,” said Sussex.
This collaborative approach results in drinks that feel both personal and festive, making Inklings a must-visit during the holidays.
