The opening of Costco in Pleasanton brought excitement to the community, with shoppers lining up hours before it opened. Residents eagerly expressed their enthusiasm, thrilled to have a brand-new Costco location conveniently located right within their city.
“It’s a new thing for Pleasanton and it generates revenue for the city. I’m excited because it’s here, it’s done and everything is good,” said a shopper in line.
The new Costco spans 155,000 square feet and offers various choices, sparking excitement among shoppers from around the world.
“I’m happy about it because the two Costcos in the area-Livermore and Danville- are already too crowded.Having one more will help spread out the people and give us more options to shop,” said customer Curtis Lee.
This newly built Costco stands out from other Bay Area locations due to its size and features. In addition to an expansive sales floor, the site offers numerous EV charging stations, ensuring accessibility for diverse customer needs.
“Different from the other Costcos, Pleasanton offers 8 EV charging stations and 30 gas station stalls. Half of the workers from Livermore’s Costco had transferred to work at the Pleasanton Costco and about 350 total employees, but it could go up to 380 during the holiday seasons,” said Costco consultant Kevin.
The enthusiasm for the opening extended beyond just Pleasanton residents. People from across the country flocked to the new Costco, turning it into a major event beyond the local community.
“It’s crazy to me that people were camping out in line a week before the grand opening, and that some even traveled from Southern California and Hawaii for it. I’m excited to have a new Costco nearby to help ease the crowds and hopefully discover some new products and varieties.” said customer Camilla Huang.
