During the week of November 18-22, Amador Valley students united to celebrate Fall Spirit Week, bringing the school community together to embrace the changing seasons. The week featured the colors of the falling leaves, the crisp autumn air, and the cozy atmosphere of Autumn. Through fun themes and shared experiences, students found new ways to connect with one another.
“The Fall Spirit Week lets me embrace the new weather and enjoy the cozy vibes of the weather and it also makes me feel united with the others in the school, ” said AV student Siya Patel (‘26).
Different Themes For The Spirit Week
Students expressed their creativity each day by dressing according to different themes. Monday kicked things off with Pajama Day, where students wore their comfiest sleepwear to class. On Tuesday, Sweater Weather encouraged everyone to showcase their coziest sweaters, bringing warmth to the chilly days.
“My favorite day of the week was Wednesday, as I got to show off my new comfy UGGs,” said student Meher Chemban (‘26).
Wednesday featured Comfy Shoes Day, with Ugg boots and fuzzy slippers being popular choices among students. This theme kept the spirit of fall alive while ensuring everyone stayed comfortable. Thursday celebrated Flannel Day, where students proudly wore plaid and embraced classic autumn fashion.
A Spirited Community
At Amador, spirit weeks are more than just themed dress-up days; they play a vital role in building community and fostering a sense of belonging. Through fun themes and outfit choices, it is a comforting way to lead into Thanksgiving break.
“I love the Fall Spirit Weeks. I think that it brings out the unity within the fall spirit of our school. It’s really fun to see everybody dress up for the same Spirit Week—you look around and see everyone in flannels and sweaters. It’s really cute and marks the beginning of fall,” said Junior Class President Zara Nesar (‘26).
Spirit Weeks also serve as a welcome distraction from academic pressures. Students enjoy the opportunity to match outfits with friends, participate in lighthearted activities, and share moments of joy on campus.
“It gives people a chance to show school spirit and have things to coordinate with your friends about,” said AV Student Allyson Yang (‘27).
