The Homecoming Game is one of the largest football games of the season. Students flock to the stadium to support the team, watch performances, and enjoy the last home game of the year.
“I think because everyone’s super excited about the game and the… dance that’s happening, and our spirit days are like, really cool this year. Everyone’s spirited with their neon and I think it’s super exciting because the entire student body is really hyped,” said Mika Nakari (‘26).
From a spirit week to the massive turnout, the football team faced pressure to bring a final home victory
“Our homecoming job is to win the football game. I feel really good. You know, we have a great opportunity to play our last home game in front of a great crowd on homecoming, so our guys are fired up,” said Daniel Jones, Varsity Football Head Coach.
From a dynamic rally during third period showcased various talents to the halftime honoring the senior homecoming court, the game day wall was full of action-packed events. The sidelines were animated with JV and varsity cheer teams, bidding adieu to the cherished at-home Friday Night Lights tradition.
“[This Homecoming Game] is a very bittersweet moment because it’s my last one, and…I’m gonna miss it [and] that feeling of everyone together,” said Meg Jagoe (‘24), Varsity Cheerleader Captain.
The Homecoming Game has been a large tradition of our school, setting up the Homecoming dance on the following day. The Dons came out victorious in this game though, 42-7, a win sure to raise team morale as they finish out the last games of the season.
