Valentine’s Day, in February, is a holiday to appreciate the people one loves in life, from significant others to best friends. Here are three different Valentine’s Day and February festive drink recipes rated  based on price, effort, and tastiness.

Simple Strawberry Milkshake

Found on the website Food With Feeling, this strawberry milkshake recipe is a classic. Price-wise, it was quite cheap for how much it produced. We paid $7.49 for the ice cream, $4.99 for the whipping cream, and we used regular 2% milk found in our fridge.  This drink tasted fantastic, and for around $12.50s it was worth it. Since ingredients are interchangeable, and you could purchase a cheaper brand of ice cream or cream, we rate this an 8/10 for price. This drink took us less than five minutes to make and serve, so we rate it a 10/10 for simplicity. Lastly, this drink was tasty and was the personal favorite of the three, which gets it another 10/10 for taste.

Pink Lemonade Slush

Another simple drink idea is a pink lemonade slushyh. This drink, like the milkshake, requires a blender. All we need for this tasty refreshment is pink lemonade and ice. The drink, much like the milkshake, was straightforward. We followed the recipe for the most part, but we chose to garnish with a colorful pink glitter rim. As for price, this drink was very cheap. We paid $4.39 for the pink lemonade, and that was the only ingredient we needed from the grocery store as the other ingredients were ice and water. Because of this, this slushie gets a 10/10 for price. This drink took a little bit more effort as we had to make sure that the slushie was the perfect consistency. Someone less picky, however, may have an easier time with the preparation of the drink, so we rate it a 7/10 for simplicity. This refreshing drink was very sweet and perfect as a thirst-quencher, but it could also use some more sugar. Because of this, the slushy gets a 9/10 for taste.

Fruit Punch Mocktail

The mocktail was made with Canda Dry ginger ale and Minute Maid fruit punch. (Cora Kerton)

The last beverage we made was a non-alcoholic take on a fruit punch cocktail. For this drink, we followed a recipe from Giant Savory. This drink took a little more effort, but the end result was delicious. We began by mixing a fruit punch with some ginger ale until the ratio was balanced. We then added some grenadine sauce as a substitution for pineapple juice. We picked a pretty glass and then poured the drink in and garnished with a festive rim and a slice of strawberry. One of the best parts about this drink is its versatility. You could substitute any of the ingredients. This drink however was a little bit more on the expensive side. The grenadine was $10.99, the fruit punch was $5.39, and the ginger ale was $2.50. The grenadine, although expensive, added a special punch to the drink with its tart flavor. For price, it gets a 6/10. This drink also took around five minutes to make, so for simplicity it gets a 10/10. Lastly, it tasted great and looked aesthetic, which earns it another 10/10.

Making pretty drinks is a way to have fun and let out your creative inner mixologist  this February. Each of these drinks had minimal effort and a unique taste.
