Last Wednesday, March 9, the Mr. Amador Boys partnered up with the Meadowlark Dairy in downtown Pleasanton to raise money for the George Mark Children’s House.

This was the first time that the Dairy has held any sort of partnered fundraiser and it was a huge success. Any customer who made a cash donation towards the house that day got a free ice cream cone, served to them by the boys.

“We’re very thankful that they were willing to give it a shot for us and help us earn money for the house,” said Cortney Fiske (‘22), one of this year’s Mr. Amador Directors.

Everyone who participated seemed to have a great time, and there was a huge turnout.

“I really enjoyed it [the fundraiser]. I think it was great how many people in the community came together for a cause and I also think it was great that the dairy was able to make that fundraiser happen,” said Suvir Kheny (‘23).

Many of the boys’ friends and family members stopped by for some ice cream, and even Amador Valley’s swim team came after practice to support. The employees at the dairy also had a great time working with all the boys.

“It was really fun, people were really generous which was good, it was for a good cause and the boys had a good time. I had a lot of fun watching them and we raised a lot of money,” said Sam Montoya (‘23), one of the employees who worked during the fundraiser.

The boys and the employees worked really well together, they were smiling together the whole time and definitely made the boys feel welcome.

“Overall it was just a great environment, we were able to have a really good time,” said Ryan Lau (‘22).

In between helping customers, the boys had music playing outside and got to show off some fun dance moves for the cars coming through the drive-through.

“I think my favorite part was dancing for some cars, Ryan and I choreographed a couple of dances and when we got a few extra tips from them it was really fun,” said Blake Bouchard (‘22).

The fundraiser was able to generate over $1,500 in donations for the children at George Mark’s.

“If we get invited back to do it, we’d love to keep this up in future years,” said Amelia Flores (‘22), another director of Mr. Amador.
