N-95 masks available for student pick-up
February 1, 2022
The Alameda County Office of Education has secured a supply of N-95 masks for PUSD students in grades 6 to 12.
For Amador students, they can pick up a mask at lunch in front of the library on Wednesday, February 2 and Thursday, February 3.
Students are required to show their ID card when they pick up a mask.
“Each student can request up to three masks to wear on a rotating basis,” said Vice Principal Athena Duran.
If students need additional masks, they can send an email to Athena Duran at [email protected].
An effective and well-fitting mask should completely cover the nose and mouth, fit snugly and not have any gaps, and be handled by the ear loops, cords, or head straps.
Some additional information for N95 mask usage is that it can be reworn as long as it is not wet or soiled. They can be stored between uses in a clean paper bag.
“There is no ‘official’ recommendation for N95 care and reuse outside of the healthcare setting,” said Duran.
