Overview

“House of Gucci” follows the chaotic lives of Patricia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) and Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) as they live life as the family of Italian fashion brand Gucci. The movie is full of romance, drama, and heartbreak.

The movie is based on the true story of the Guccis, and released in theaters worldwide on November 24th, 2021.

The Story

Patricia Reggiani starts off as a humble woman working for her father’s transportation company. At a mutual friend’s party, she meets Maurizio Gucci, the son of Rodolfo Gucci (Jeremy Irons) who owns 50% of the luxury brand Gucci. From there, Patricia and Mauizio’s romance quickly flourishes as she shows him what life was like outside the Gucci family after Maurizio was kicked out.

The story truly starts to progress when their love becomes a fight to take over Gucci from Rodolfo Gucci, Aldo Gucci (Al Pacino), and Paolo Gucci (Jared Leto).

Pros and Cons

Ridley Scott, the director of “House of Gucci,” portrayed the story of Patricia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci in a way that enticed the audience. The story line was interesting, but it did get tedious at certain points. The ending could have been more thrilling and dramatic, but the overall story of the Guccis is different than any other.

Final Thoughts

Overall, “House of Gucci” is enticing, dramatic, and unique. The trailer doesn’t represent the movie accurately, since it’s not entirely about murder, but the chaotic portrayal of the characters and the remarkable acting certainly make “House of Gucci” worth watching.
