“Paw Patrol: The Movie” is set to release in late August of this year. When the cast was announced and the original characters were listed, no one batted an eye. However, reality star Kim Kardashian’s name popping up was an unexpected career move for the KKW Beauty founder.

The beloved animated Nickelodeon show follows six rescue dogs that have special skills and go on rescue missions. The socialite is set to voice a new character—a poodle named Delores.

“I don’t really understand why [Kardashian] wanted to become a voice actress, but it is something more she can add to her resume,” said Noah Cole (‘23).

Now, there is some reasoning behind choosing “Paw Patrol” to voice a character in. Kardashian made an appearance at “Paw Patrol Live!” at the Dolby Theatre with her youngest son, Saint. Her children are seemingly fans of the show and the excitement when they found out their mom would be in the movie was unmatched.

Other big names were announced with Kardashian, all playing roles created for the specific movie. Stars Jimmy Kimmel, Tyler Perry, Dax Shepard, Yara Shahidi, Randall Park, Iain Armitage, Marsai Martin and Will Brisbin round out the new voice cast and will join the voice actors from the original series.

“I think it’s cool that [Kardashian] has all of these opportunities to use her name and actually does it, she’s done so many interesting things that being a celebrity has gotten her,” said Laura Nussbaum (‘23).

From being a store owner, reality star, workout enthusiast, actress, singer, model, author (kind of), to creating her own perfume, app, beauty line, and now becoming a lawyer, Kardashian is no stranger to trying something new.

So although the career move may be random, it is not a surprise that Kim Kardashian is once again broadening her horizons.
