Steph Curry and his new career high of 62 points in 30 minutes
January 20, 2021
The famous and unstoppable Stephen Curry hit his career high of 62 points in 30 minutes during his game against the Portland Blazers.
The greatest 3-point shooter in the NBA played a fantastic game on January 3. His best-career performance definitely excited many fans and players.
“I knew he would have a great night right off the jump. It was one of the first games with Draymond back, so Steph had someone who would constantly feed him the ball,” said Emma Baer (‘23).
Curry’s 62 points are the most made by any player, making him the fifth player in franchise history to score 60 points or more. He also beat his teammate, Klay Thomspon, who scored 60 points in 29 minutes against the Pacers in 2016.
“I had no idea he would go for 62, but I figured at least 40. The most surprising part was that he never had a game like this. A couple years ago, he had a really good game against the Wizards but never broke his career high. The fact that this is his 10th season and he’s now reaching a new career high after two MVP seasons and three championships is pretty amazing,” said Baer (‘23).
Despite the performance of the Warriors this season, there is hope that they will come back stronger. With the help of Curry, the team may gain the chance to come together and build successful chemistry.
“I think that this game will definitely give Steph some more confidence. About a week ago, they played the Raptors and Steph had a really bad game. The rest of the team stepped up and helped them win. As they build more chemistry, I think their record will improve and Steph will still continue to be Steph but the rest of the team will be able to contribute too,” said Baer (‘23).
