December 10, 2020
The East Bay SPCA is holding their first ever Pawliday Baking Hour on December 17th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. According to the their website, participants will get a free booklet from local bakeries with various recipes for their pets.
There will be a pet behavior and training Q&A as well as a tour of the Oakland shelter and clinic. The event will also include baking demonstrations from various bakeries.
“We plan to have the event take place from both our shelters in Oakland on Baldwin St and from Angel Cakes’ shop in Oakland on 5th street,” said SPCA events coordinator Kayla Vucinich.
The SPCA is hosting this event in hopes of reaching out to the community to help them through the pandemic. Their goal is to connect pet owners with the organization and this showcase offers an excellent opportunity to do so.
“Especially now during COVID-19 when people are getting new pets, this event will be helpful. It will be interesting to see how they will cover each topic in the Q&A,” said event participant U. Garikipati.
Because of COVID-19, wondering pet owners have not been able to attend the SPCA’s regular weekly events. The Pawliday Baking Hour will present participants with a lot of information.
“We had the idea to create the Pawliday Baking Hour event because we were looking to engage our community and continue our mission of providing resources for pet owners. We also know there is an interest in baking and baking safely for pets, so we figured this would be a fun way to showcase that!” said Vucinich.
The SPCA will undoubtedly do an amazing job, as they have done in the past, to organize this creative event.
“How people can support is signing up, or making a donation to support the event or future similar events!” said Vucinich.
The event, like many of their other exceptional events, will support those in the community with pets. We can do our part to support them too by signing up, after all, it’s free!
